Twins Winter Caravan stops at Saint Marys Hospital

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Children at Mayo Clinic were treated to a real surprise Wednesday morning when they got to spend some time with their favorite baseball players, when theTwins Winter Caravan made a stop at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Twins pitchers Kyle Gibson and Caleb Thielbar, along with Twins Hall of Famer Tony Oliva, radio announcer Cory Provus, and Twins mascot T.C. were all excited to meet and sign baseballs for the children.

About a dozen patients were able to meet the players. Children received signed bats, baseballs, and personal cards from the players.

According to the Twins website, the Winter Caravan is one of the longest running and most extensive offseason team caravans in professional sports. It features teams of current and former players visiting schools, hospitals, corporations and service clubs during the day with a traditional "hot stove" program each evening.
