MASON CITY, Minn. (KTTC) -- It was a happy ending for seven abandoned puppies found in a plastic container in north Iowa earlier this month-- officials say they've all been placed in their own homes, just in time for the holidays.
You might remember the story of the 8-week old puppies who were abandoned in a plastic container in a Mason City Neighborhood on Dec. 5th. A good Samaratan who found the puppies brought them to the Mason City Stray Animal Shelter, located in the same building as the Humane Society of North Iowa.
After our story aired, officials with HSNI said they received many inquiries from families looking to adopt the playful pups. And, after doing some careful legwork, HSNI officials say that as of last Saturday, all seven of the pups-- that's Daisy Mae, Mario, Macy, Lou-Lou, Roscoe, Duke and Luigi-- had been placed in their forever homes.
HSNI officials are glad to report the happy ending-- especially considering the puppies were abandoned in the bitter cold weather, which could have caused serious hypothermia or death.
