Charles City man recovering after hunting accident


CHARLES CITY, Iowa (KTTC) -- A north Iowa man is recovering after he was shot in the back while hunting.

According to the Iowa DNR, a 21-year-old Charles City man was hunting near Floyd Saturday afternoon. A deer slug fired from about 200 yards away and hit him in the upper back.

The DNR said the shot is believed to be accidental.

He was treated at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

There's no word on his condition.
