LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – As Christmas approaches, many people are taking care of some last minute shopping.
The average holiday shoppers still have half their holiday list to purchase by the second week of December, according to the National Retail Federation.
That means the two weekends before Christmas are among the busiest for retailers.
Stores at the Valley View Mall are already reporting boosts in sales, especially since many are offering last minute deals.
"You're getting some of the greatest deals right now. People are taking advantage of that 50- 60- 70 percent off – the buy one, get whatever off – so it's also just a great time to save a little bit of money and maybe get those items that those people really wanted," said Laurie Cafe, mall marketing director.
The NRF is expecting to see a 3.9 percent boost in holiday sales this year compared to last year.
