EYOTA, Minn. (KTTC) -- It's now full speed ahead for a major expansion of one of the most modern dairy farming operations in Minnesota.
Gar-Lin Dairy Farms is a high-tech, high-volume family-farming enterprise located just south of Eyota.
On Thursday night, the Olmsted County Planning Advisory Commission approved a conditional use permit for an expansion at Gar-Lin. They'll add-on to a barn and go from 1,796 dairy cows to 1,956.
The expansion process gave people a chance to speak out.
As we first told you a few years ago, Gar-Lin has a modern "rotary" milking set-up and is proud of its "happy" cows and top-quality milk.
Gar-Lin was named Minnesota's Milk Producers of the Year in 2010.
