Crews extinguish fire at Rochester assisted living facility

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A fire broke out early Tuesday morning at a Rochester assisted living center.

According to the Rochester Fire Department, crews responded to Madonna Meadows in southwest Rochester just before 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the office, which was closed for the night.

Responders quickly extinguished the blaze, which had been kept under control by a sprinkler system.

Investigators say the office sustained significant damage. Residents were never forced out of the building, but rather protected in place to avoid exposure to smoke.

No one was hurt. The fire marshal's office is investigating.
