Flu season ramping up in Minnesota

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The Minnesota Department of Health says it's that time of the year again: the flu is ramping up in Minnesota.

New figures show 13 people were hospitalized with the flu last week, nearly triple the total from the week before.

No deaths are reported yet this season...let's hope it stays that way.

And across the nation, the flu season has had a mild start but activity is picking up in the southeast part of the country.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, so far this year about 40 percent of Americans have gotten a flu shot.

Last year, nearly 400,000 people were hospitalized with the flu because the season was so severe.
