ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A captain with the Olmsted County Sheriffs office has announced he's running for the lead role in the department.
Captain Kevin Torgerson said Tuesday he wants to be the next Olmsted County Sheriff.
He made the announcement Tuesday night at Whistle Binkies South in Rochester.
Torgerson has spent nearly 34 years in law enforcement, working in the Hennepin County Sheriffs office before moving to Olmsted County in 1986.
He currently serves as the Olmsted County Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
