Bitter wind chills on the way tonight

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The snow has moved out, but the cold is sticking around-- leaving us with frigid temperatures and bitter cold wind chills as we wind down our Monday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory until 6 p.m. Monday for most of the KTTC viewing area. According to the advisory, wind chill values will remain between 20 and 30 degrees below zero though Monday night. Frost bite can occur in these conditions if exposed skin is not protected.

Low temperatures Monday night will be near 1 below zero. A weak disturbance tonight could bring another dose of snow to the area, but totals are expected to be much lighter, with half an inch of accumulation likely in most spots before it ends after midnight.

Yet another system will bring similar snowfall accumulations late Tuesday evening, after highs tomorrow top out near 11 degrees. We'll have another cold sunshine-filled day Wednesday before warmer air begins to trickle in for the end of the week-- as highs will finally be in the 20s by Friday.
