Meth bust at Treasure Island leads to 3 arrests


RED WING, Minn. (KTTC) -- A meth bust at Treasure Island Resort and Casino leads to three arrests.

Red Wing police, Prairie Island Tribal police, the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office and the Dakota County Sheriff's Office carried out a search warrant on Nov. 16 of a hotel room at the casino. According to the complaint, police found 36.1 grams of meth, a total of $2,769 in cash or chips. Police also found a six-inch knife, another folding knife and brass knuckles. A search of the room turned up 30 baggies and a bag of hypodermic needles in the room.

Jason Michael Marrison, 39, of River Falls, who was staying in the hotel room, was arrested and charged with first-degree drugs sale of 10 grams or more 

The complaint says Linda Danette Smith, 35, and Thomas Olszewski, 25, arrived at the hotel together as officers searched the hotel room. Smith and Olszewski were arrested. Smith was found in possession of 6.4 grams of meth, a scale and $901 in cash. The complaint goes on to say that Olszewski had a scale that field tested positive for meth and also had a seven cell phones.

Smith is charged with second-degree drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Olszewski is charged with fifth-degree drug possession and drug paraphernalia.
