Andersen named semifinalist for coaching award


MADISON (WKOW) -- The Badgers are 8-2 during the Gary Andersen era. That hot start has drawn some attention for Andersen. He has been named a semifinalist for the Maxwell Football Club Collegiate Coach of the Year Award.

Wisconsin has won five straight. They are ranked No. 19 in the latest BCS standings. The Badgers rank No. 6 in the nation in total defense. On offense, they are on pace to break the school record by averaging 505.8 yards per game.
