La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW) The UW-La Crosse cross country teams will close out their seasons in style this weekend at the NCAA Division III National Meet.
It certainly no surprise both the men and women have qualified.
The women's team earned an automatic bid thanks to a second place finish at regionals last weekend.
Four runners earned All-Midwest honors in the process.
And they're hoping to carry that momentum into Saturday's national meet.
"We've been waiting for this since the last time we were at nationals last year. Very excited. Very ready. This whole season has been a preamble to this meet so we're definitely very excited for this meet," said Alyssa Luker.
"It's been awesome to see this team make the turn that they have. To go from a team that barely made the national meet last year to a team that's going to compete for a top spot at the national meet. It's exciting," said head coach Derek Stanley.
The national meet will be held in Hanover, Indiana.
