ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Earlier this year, experts said we mostly likely wouldn't see gas prices dip below 3-dollars a gallon. But yet, that's where they appear to be headed-- and consumers across southeastern Minnesota aren't complaining.
Nationally, Triple-A says the average price of a gallon of gas is about $3.19 a gallon. While that's higher than our average here, it's still a quarter cheaper than it was a year ago and six cents cheaper than a week ago.
And, industry experts say, prices at the pump are expected to continue to drop, and we shouldn't be surprised if we start to see gas prices in our area drop below the 3-dollars a gallon mark.
Locally, prices in Albert Lea have already dropped below three dollars. Gas Buddy says you can fuel up for $2.94 per gallon of gas there.
Austin is seeing an average of $3.03 at the pump.
And, according to Gas Buddy, here in Rochester, gas is at an average of $3.03 a gallon in most places, which is down five cents from last week.
