WAUSAU, Wisconsin (WXOW) - With the top two quarterbacks for the Packers on the sidelines, fans at Buffalo Wild Wings in Wausau say they're definitely seeing a difference.
"It makes you appreciate how good of a quarterback Rodgers is and how much we need him back," said Tim Imm of Wausau.
While fans hope for the return Rodgers, QB Scott Tolzien had to step in. Some fans at Malarkey's in Wausau say it doesn't matter who is on the field.
"They probably have one of the best quarterback programs in the NFL and I always tell people they breed the best quarterbacks and I don't think it's going to be a problem at all," said Matt Straub of Wausau.
Most fans agree on the team's strength.
"We always say a quarterback's best friend is the running game and Lacy's running well," said Tod Quaderer of Schofield.
No matter which QB is leading, fans say the team still has room for improvement. The biggest concern for fans seems to be defense, and that the team needs to stop the running game.
"They have guys standing up in the middle of the field not doing anything instead of rushing the quarterback or covering a guy on the backfield," said Imm.
With so many injuries, one familiar face suited up again. Fans say it's nice to have Clay Matthews back in the Green and Gold.
"He feeds off the rest of the defense so it should help them big time," said Imm.
Fans say they still have a lot of faith in Head Coach Mike McCarthy.
"He can commit to things good and I think he always has his team prepared well," said Imm.
But what was on the minds of fans?
"Making big plays and winning the games," said Straub.
It was announced that Tolzien will play again next week against the Giants, but fans still wish it was their favorite number 12.
