GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- The injury to Aaron Rodgers has opened a door for Scott Tolzien. The former Badgers quarterback has been promoted to Green Bay's active roster.
The Packers signed Tolzien to the practice squad on Sept. 2. He spent the previous two seasons on San Francisco's active roster. Although, he has never played in a regular season game. For the moment, Tolzien joins Seneca Wallace as the only two healthy quarterbacks on the Packers roster.
The club also added receiver Alex Gillett to the practice squad. Green Bay initially signed him as a rookie free agent on May 22. They released him on Aug. 26.
