Menomonie, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse soccer team fell 1-0 at UW-Stout Tuesday night in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tournament First Round. The Eagles, the tournament's sixth seed, finish their season at 6-11-1 while the Blue Devils improve to 8-9-1. UW-Stout, the tournament's third seed, will play at second-seeded UW-Oshkosh in the semifinals Thursday, November 7.
UW-L and UW-Stout were tied 0-0 at halftime Tuesday as the teams combined for five shots. The Blue Devils scored the only goal of the match at 59:05 with Alix Hyduke recording her seventh goal of the season. Lauren Kizlik had the assist.
The Eagles finished with eight shots in the match with all eight on goal. Megan Gresl, Laura Sauer and Kara Bednarek each had two shots on goal.
The Blue Devils recorded six shots with five on goal. Hyduke and Kizlik each had two shots on goal.
UW-L's Ashley Tracy had four saves while UW-Stout's Paige Meyer recorded eight.
