ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Police say a sting operation on a social networking site has lead to the arrest of a Rochester man who investigators say was about to meet someone he thought was 15-years-old girl for sex.
The arrest comes after a week-long sting operation Rochester police carried out on the social-networking site Tagged.
According to police, 43-year-old Anthony King of Rochester was taken into custody around noon Thursday. His arrest comes after police say King allegedly chatted online with an undercover police officer for about a week.
The officer was posing as a 15-year-old girl.
Rochester police say King contacted the officer on his own on the website. He sent her nude photos of himself and had conversations of a sexual nature. Police also say King agreed to meet the girl at an undisclosed location in Rochester for sex.
That meeting was scheduled for noon on Thursday. When King showed up, police say about a half dozen police officers were waiting for him and arrested him.
Rochester police also said this is the first sting operation of this nature RPD has carried out.
