MILWAUKEE (AP) - U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan is calling on Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to resign over technical problems plaguing the federal health care exchange.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the Wisconsin Republican said Sebelius should step down during a phone conversation with Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, who's running for governor and wants the secretary ousted.
Ryan tells the newspaper he agrees with that. He says the rollout of the federal health exchange website has been a fiasco, in contrast to Sebelius' assurances to lawmakers earlier that the launch would go smoothly.
Ryan also released a letter Wednesday asking Sebelius to detail the costs of the "tech surge" the Obama administration plans to fix the system.
