ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Young families ventured out Friday for a spooky nature hike through Quarry Hill Woods where they got up close to some "Creatures of the Night".
The Quarry Hills Nature Center is hosting the Halloween Happening event for a ninth year, which is as educational as it is exciting.
Kids and adults alike hiked the trails for Halloween fun while also learning about some costumed nighttime creatures.
Volunteers donning raccoon, owl, bat and skunk outfits came out to reveal the nighttime habits of these hard to spot animals.
"They really like the little skits that are going on with the Creatures of the Night and whatnot, and they like the walking and just being in nature," said volunteer tour guide Preethiya Sekar.
If you have not been out for the Halloween Happening Creatures of the Night event, the event lasts until 8 p.m. Friday night, and continues again on Saturday from 4:15 to 8 p.m.
