EYOTA, Minn. (KTTC) -- A two-vehicle crash near Eyota sent one woman to the hospital and temporarily closed down the intersection of Highway 42 and 40th St. SE just before 8 p.m. Monday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, an SUV driven by Jill Veerkamp, 31, of St. Charles, was heading north on Highway 42 when it struck a trailer being pulled by a tractor driven David Weber, 21, of Chatfield as it was driving west on 40th St. SE through the Highway 42 intersection.
The SUV stopped in the intersection, the tractor and trailer continued on and eventually stopped.
Veerkamp sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. Weber had no apparent injury.
The State Patrol was assisted on-scene by the Olmsted County Sheriff's office, Eyota Fire and Ambulance, Dover Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance.
