ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The leaves are crunching underfoot and the spirits of Halloween are out and about -- it might seem like the perfect time to get scared silly at a haunted house. And why not? The ghastly creatures who take delight in making you scream will be just fine with you going home safe and sound to tell others about how they made your blood run cold.
So where to go? Here are some ideas on where you can go for a horror-filled good time.

This Spooktacular Haunted House features an elaborate haunted house, refreshments, and t-shirts for sale. The first night (October 18th) will be purposely less scary for young children and adults who want to enjoy the fun without the fright. The first half hour on every night will also be less scary! Presented by the Fillmore Central High School Music Department, the Monster Bash 2013 proceeds will go directly into student band and choir accounts for upcoming performance trips in 2014.

Come visit Southern Minnesota's most horrifying haunted attraction located at the historical George Stopple farmstead at the History Center of Olmsted County. From the street you will already wish you didn't come. It is truly designed to frighten and amuse you. Guided tours will include a look at the original farm house where you will meet the frightening inhabitants of the property. Your tour guide will lead you on a horrifying tour of the property including the cemetery with the Haunted Hearse, the Witches Lair, the Headless Horseman Stables, the Zombie Express (HAUNTED BUS), the Maze of Terror, Underground Clown Town, the Theatrical Thriller in the barn, the Butcher Shop, and the Spider's Den. Encounter goblins, pirates, and vampires as you traverse through the spooktacular ropes course. These friendly characters will ensure a safe, fun, and candy filled adventure for all. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes. Helmets and harnesses provided.

Guests will submerge themselves in a world where fears and phobias come to life and horror has no limits. Featuring more than 300 vile creatures lurking in the shadows, 10 bloodcurdling haunted attractions, heart-pounding live entertainment, and signature thrill rides that brings terror to a whole new level.
Returning mazes and scare zones include Mangler Asylum, Camp Wekilou, Hellside Farm, Mr. Cleaver's Bloodshed, Chateau du Damné, Abnormal Alley, and Blood Creek Cemetery.
The Halloween Haunt at ValleySCARE is open every Friday and Saturday night through October 26, with bonus Thursday night, October 17. Halloween Haunt attractions open at 7:00pm on Thursday & Friday nights; Saturdays the Park opens at 12:00pm for Planet Spooky, daytime non-scary Halloween with the transformation into Halloween Haunt beginning at 6:00pm.
Halloween Haunt includes graphic scenes, suggestive themes and intense imagery and is intended for mature audiences; not recommended for children 13 years of age or younger.
