NORTHWOOD, Minn. (KTTC) -- The man charged in the stabbing death of a Northwood woman wants a change of venue for his trial.
Tyrone Washington Jr., 39, of Northwood, is charged with first-degree murder in the August death of Justina Smith.
The Mason City Globe Gazette reports a motion was filed asking the trial be moved out of Worth County. A hearing on the motion will take place Oct. 28.
Smith was stabbed to death on Aug. 5 at Swensrud Park in Northwood.
Washington is being held in the Worth County Jail on $500,000 dollars cash-only bond.
