AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) -- The first night of the 30th annual Halloween Warm Up was canceled on Friday night due to thunderstorms. This is the first time in its history the popular pre-Halloween event has been canceled.
Event participants are led through the woods at Hormel Nature Center while Matchbox Theatre performances take place along the route. According to organizers, the two night event sells more than 300 tickets each year.
The spooky nature walk was canceled before the first hike was set to take place at 6:50 p.m. Organizers invited anyone with a ticket to Friday's program to attend on Saturday at their assigned time.
In case of a weather cancellation on Saturday, ticket holders will be allowed to use their ticket at future Matchbox Theatre performances. Tickets are available at Super Fresh Produce, Bakery and Garden Center for $6 per person.
