WANAMINGO, Minn. (KTTC) -- A family from Wanamingo received top honors in the dairy world.
One of their animals took the Grand Champion award in the Junior Holstein show at the World Dairy Expo.
Rachel Friese who showed the cow is still in Madison.
We spoke with her parents Friday afternoon in Wanamingo who say they are very excited about the win.
They say they were able to sell the winning cow and hope such a big honor will help bring more business to their farm.
"It doesn't happen to us Minnesota breeders very often. I don't know when the last time is, about maybe five, eight years ago," said her father David Friese. "There's cows that are coming from Connecticut, California, Kentucky, wherever."
Rachel will compete against the Grand Champions from the other breeds for Supreme Champion next.
