AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) -- The Austin Police Department carried out three meth busts early Monday morning.
The first happened during a traffic stop at 10th Street Northeast and 1st Avenue Northeast. Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger said Bobby Khaoone, 24, of Austin, was arrested after officers reportedly found a total of 0.84 grams of meth shortly after midnight. Khaoone is facing a fifth-degree drug charge, third-degree DWI charge and a charge for drug paraphernalia and driving after revocation.
At about 1:20 a.m., an officer saw a car parked in the wrong direction with its lights on at 8th Street Northwest and 1st Avenue Northwest. Krueger said the two men in the car shut the car's lights off as an officer approached and appeared to duck down in the car. Police searched the vehicle and allegedly found 8.85 grams of meth, baggies and a total of $701 in cash. Officers arrested Jon Faas, 25, of Austin, on a second-degree controlled substance charge and Joshua Faas, 27, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, on second-degree and fifth-degree controlled substance charges.
Officers were also called Monday to a report of two suspicious men in the 1000 block of 13th Avenue Northeast. Krueger said one of the men got into a vehicle. An officer approached and police confiscated 10.7 grams of meth and a phantom 4.5 mm BB gun from the vehicle. The driver, Cory Cassidy, 29, was arrested and is facing charges of second-degree possession of a controlled substance and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
