ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Rochester man is behind bars after a weekend stabbing in northwest Rochester.
Fariid Salah, 25, is facing charges of second-degree assault in the stabbing of a Blaine man.
Rochester police say officers were called to the Westwood Apartment complex on the 3700 block of 8th Street Northwest at about 8 a.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived, police say both Salah and the stabbing victim were covered in blood.
Police say, according to witnesses, that Salah had been asked to leave a residence there, and that's when he stabbed the 26-year-old from Blaine several times in the back.
Police say the victim, who was a much larger man, then hit Salah several times. Both were taken to Saint Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police also say alcohol was involved.
