Pet Owners crowd Assisi Heights for Animal Blessing

Rochester, Minn. (KTTC) -- Many have heard the phrase "HOLY COW!"but have you ever heard someone say Holy Dog?  Don't tell that to the Franciscan sister's of Assisi Heights.

The sisters and volunteers blessed all pets from dogs to cats over the weekend at Canticle Park. Pet owners lined up one by one, not two by two, to have their pets blessed for good health and a strong relationship.  After each pet was blessed the owner received a certificate to signify the event.

Vivian is a young child bringing by her dogs to be blessed by volunteer blesser Marie Francis.

"Chippie is a little dog, Jackie is a big dog, and Maple is a big dog. They're going to pray," says Vivian.

"It's a mutual loving experience so we're happy we had a chance to put the blessing of the animals today up at Assisi Heights," says Marie Francis.
