School bus involved in accident in southeast Rochester

Posted: Updated:
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A school bus that had just dropped off its last student was involved in a three-car crash in southeast Rochester Thursday.

The crash happened on the 1400 block of Marion Road Southeast.

While the bus was stopped and after it had dropped off its last student, a Ford Explorer pulled out of Bear Creek Apartments.

Police say the driver pulled in front of the bus and started to head north.   A van heading south bound could not see the Explorer pulling out because it was blocked by the bus, and that's when the Explorer struck the van.

The Explorer bounced off the bus, veered into the sidewalk, struck three trees, and uprooted the last one.  It stopped before reaching the sidewalk.

The driver of the Explorer was taken to Saint Marys Hospital with minor injuries.
