ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The children at Saint Marys Hospital got a real treat Tuesday, as one of Sesame Street's best known residents stopped by to say hello-- Elmo.
More than a dozen pediatric patients were greeted by their fuzzy friend at a special 30-minute visit from the famous character on Tuesday.
The children laughed and danced with the huggable-monster in a jam-session.
For parents, it was a chance to step away from the hospital room and enjoy being a kid again along with their children.
"He's been through a lot the past few days and so, he's a little overwhelmed right now. But he's excited I can tell. It's a little bit of a break from our routine that we've been doing so it's really nice," Nik Broekemeir, a parent of a child at Saint Marys said of Elmos' visit Tuesday.
Elmo is in Rochester for his "Elmo Makes Music" performances at the Mayo Civic Center in October.
