ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Friday was the day Apple fans in the Med City could finally get their hands on the new, highly-anticipated Apple iPhone 5s and 5c, as stores in Rochester and across the country were set to sell the mobile device for the first time.
Last year, customers in Rochester started lining up around midnight to be the first to get their hands on the world's most popular gadget.
But this year, however, there didn't seem to be nearly as much fanfare.
Outside the Crossroads AT&T store, just a few people were waiting by their cars at about 2:45 a.m. to buy the new device.
Compared to last year, dozens were camped out on the sidewalk waiting for the then-new iPhone 5.
Still, though, retailers expect local stores to sell thousands of the Apple smart phones Friday morning.
