Cornerstone Church in Austin helps Africa with shoe drive

AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) -- Cornerstone Church in Austin has a new slogan, "Two by Two," for a shoe drive in which they're taking part in.

The program is called Soles for Jesus.  Austin residents can come by the church and drop old pairs of shoes to be donated.  The event runs until September 20th, and shoes can be dropped off anytime between eight in the morning and six at night.  They are asking for shoes anywhere from youth sizes to adult size twelve.  No flip flops or boots.

"I can only wear so many and so I just packed up some of mine that I had extra and brought them. I thought maybe someone else could enjoy wearing them, and some might need them," said Evelyn Mohrfeld.

It is their goal to send 1,000 pairs of shoes from Austin to Sub-Saharan Africa.
