WINONA, Minn. (AP) -- The president and CEO of the champion Chicago Blackhawks is visiting his alma mater in Winona Friday, and he brought along some hardware to boot: the NHL's Stanley Cup.
John McDonough brought the Stanley Cup to St. Mary's University Friday, where he's speaking at a public afternoon rally at Gostomski Fieldhouse. McDonough is a 1975 graduate of Saint Mary's and currently serves on the athletic advisory board.
The Blackhawks won their second NHL title in four seasons and open training camp for next season on Sept. 12.
The public can view the Stanley Cup from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m Friday.
