MASON CITY, Iowa (KTTC) -- A Mason City man is facing attempted murder charges Wednesday after a stabbing late Tuesday night.
Mason City police say officers were called to an apartment complex on the 1200 block of 10th Street Northwest at about 11 p.m. Tuesday.
Authorities say they found a 58-year-old man had been stabbed multiple times. He was transported to the hospital and was listed in stable condition Wednesday morning.
Police say officers located the suspect's vehicle outside a residence on South Grover. There, police say, they found 41-year-old Frederick Olson, who witnesses say stabbed the victim.
Police say Olson was arrested on charges of attempted murder, first degree burglary, and interference with official acts.
Officials also say Olson sustained an injury from the stabbing and was treated.
Police say they also found drugs and drug paraphernalia at the South Grover residence Wednesday morning. Their investigation is continuing.
