Lucky Minnesota City man wins big for the second time

WINONA, Minn. (KTTC) -- They say lighting doesn't strike twice, but one Minnesota City man has proven that statement dead wrong.

For the second time in a little more than a year, 51-year-old Mike Mendyk hit the jackpot.

Last week, he raked in another $100,000 on a scratch-off lottery ticket, after winning his first $100,000 last May.

The lucky lotto win turned out to be a pretty perfect present.

Mendyk and his wife, Becky, collected the winnings on Friday, which just happened to be his birthday.
