ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Some may call them growing pains, but two proposed developments in Rochester have created controversy during the past several months, and now the City Council is close to deciding their futures.
Both the 5th on 5th development proposed for downtown Rochester and the Scenic Oaks development in the Southwest part of the city are going before the council for public hearings Monday.
The 5th on 5th development has been a source of controversy for more than a year now, and the process had been stalled recently by legal questions.
Developer Mac Hamilton says his most recent scaled down design fits the land-use plan for the neighborhood, but neighbors say it is still too big.
The controversy around the Scenic Oaks development deals with the developers plan to extend a road through wetlands.
The hearings on that are scheduled for tonight after the 5th on 5th hearings.
