PINE ISLAND, Minn. (KTTC) -- Construction on a new Frontage Road in Pine Island started off with a bang on Monday.

Traffic was temporarily stopped on Highway 52 as the blasts took place.

The rock blasting is part of the Elk Run interchange, which includes one of the first diverging diamond interchanges in Minnesota.
