ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- It was a huge turnout Sunday night at Mayo Park in Rochester as the last in the Down By The Riverside concert series got underway.
Officials said people began arriving as early as 2:30 p.m. to grab a good spot, and with just reason. The opening act, After School Special, got the crowd ready for the headliner Three Dog Night.
By the time the concert began at 7 p.m., the park was packed with thousands of people.
The opposite bank of the Zumbro River had spectators, as well as the roof of a nearby parking ramp. Officials say the crowd was a near-record for the Down By The Riverside series.
Billboard ranks Three Dog Night's group the number 47 best artist of all time.
