Rochester police searching for driver who crashed into house

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A pickup truck smashed into a southeast Rochester home early Sunday, and now Rochester police are searching for the driver.

Officers say it happened shortly before 1 a.m. at a vacant home located on the 300 block of 10th Avenue Southeast.

Officials say the Dodge pick-up was traveling south on 10th avenue before veering off, losing control and plowing into the northeast corner of the rental unit.

When authorities arrived on scene, the driver had already fled.

Emergency crews shut off the natural gas to the home.

Police say they have a suspect in the case.
