ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- For some kids its the hardest part of the fair...and for others its the best.
It's the 4-H Blue Ribbon Auction at the Olmsted County Fair.
It's a yearly tradition for 4-Hers to raise their cow, sheep, goat or pig and take it off to the Olmsted County Fair to auction it off to a crowd of buyers.
This is the 78th year of 4-H Blue Ribbon Auction. The night began with a buyer's dinner on the Rochester fairgrounds.
Auction bids are then taken from buyers for Blue Ribbon and Championship winners.
The proceeds from the event are used for 4-H Livestock activities. Last year the auction raised more than $44 thousand dollars.
