ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A line of late afternoon strong storms that moved through southeastern Minnesota Thursday caused a number of Rochester events to cancel or postpone their activities.
Organizers decided to put an early end to Thursdays On First And Third at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, as strong storms were developing and heading toward downtown Rochester.
Also closing early was the DMC Ambassadors stand, which was operating earlier in the day Thursday on the Peace Plaza. It was designed as a way to get local residents' ideas on what the DMC expansion plans city-wide should include.
Meanwhile, over at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds, organizers there decided to temporarily close the Olmsted County Free Fair at about 3 p.m. due to the stormy weather. The Fair was restarted and activities reopened again at about 5 p.m.
