AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) -- An Austin man's bizarre behavior prompted authorities to take action last night at Turtle Creek Estates.
36-year-old Brandon Helm is being charged with gross misdemeanor obstruct legal process with force and misdemeanor flea police on foot.
According to Austin police, Helm was in the neighborhood at about 10 p.m. when authorities were called because of his "suspicious behavior."
When Austin police and Mower County deputies arrived, Helm was not complying with the officers requests and at one point jumped on his car before complying with authorities.
Shortly thereafter, Helm ran off and entered the side door of a nearby home.
He attempted to slam the door in an officers face, but authorities were able to enter the home where an officer and deputy deployed their tasers on Helm.
He was then handcuffed and taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin for an minor injury to the forehead he obtained while trying to thwart police.
He is being held at the Mower County Jail.
