ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Police Friday identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash in northwest Rochester that was discovered during Thursday morning's rush hour.
Rochester police said Friday that Jack Sacaccio, 35, of Rochester, was killed Thursday as he was exiting Highway 14 west onto the West Circle Drive on-ramp.
A passerby noticed the motorcycle in the ditch near a retention pond between Highway 14 and the frontage road near West Circle Drive at about 8 a.m. Thursday.
Police say skid marks indicated the motorcyclist left westbound Highway 14, skidded to the right, then lost control and flipped his bike on the on-ramp for West Circle Drive.
Officials believe the crash likely happened sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. By the time officers arrived on scene, Scaccio was already dead.
Investigators are still searching for what could have caused the accident.
This is the 6th fatal motorcycle-related accident in this part of the state in the past two weeks.
