MANKATO, Minn. (KTTC) -- A pilot and passenger from Albert Lea are OK after a plane crash near Mankato.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office says Lucas Schuster, 26, took off from the Wells airport Tuesday night.

The plane's engine began to lose power. Schuster tried to land on a highway but put the plane down in a cornfield south of County Road 4 near Mankato.

Both Lucas Schuster and his younger brother, Jerimiah Schuster, 19, are OK.

The plane, a four seat, Piper Tri-Pacer, was a total loss.
