LEWISTON, Minn. (KTTC) -- A St. Charles man injured in a tree-trimming accident is in critical but stable condition Thursday evening in the burn unit at Regions Hospital.
The family of Jesse Halling, 31, said the extent of his injuries is still unknown.
Halling was severely burned on Tuesday after he came into contact with an electrical transmission line.
Just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, emergency responders received a call that a man had been electrocuted on Williams Street in Lewiston.
Luckily, the tree Halling was trimming was across the street from a volunteer fire station.
Crews got to him in just one minute but the scene was still dire.
"He wasn't breathing, didn't have a pulse, they got the defibrillator out and put the shock on him three times, and finally on the third time they were able to get his heart to start beating again," said Winona County Sheriff Dave Brand.
After being resuscitated, Halling was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
The family has been staying with him at the hospital since the incident.
