2 killed in collision between truck, pickup

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota State Patrol says a tire problem apparently caused a truck to hit a pickup near Duluth, killing its two occupants.

The patrol says the accident happened on Highway 194 Tuesday afternoon. The truck hauling well-drilling equipment veered into the path of the oncoming pickup and crashed, causing a fire.

The Duluth News Tribune says a 46-year-old from Floodwood and a 29-year-old from Cloquet were killed. The truck driver was injured and taken to a hospital in Duluth.
