ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC)--  Rochester police arrested a man after he allegedly broke into Snappy Stop causing more than 2-thousand dollars in damage and then ran from officers.

It happened around 12:40 a.m. Sunday morning at 37 9th Street SE.  A witness tells police he was leaving Pizza Hut near Snappy Stop when he heard glass breaking.  He turned the corner and says he saw a man breaking the drive-through window of Snappy Stop.

The witness immediately called police and when they arrived on scene the man took off on foot. Officers say 20-year-old Abdi Ahmed didn't make it far before they arrested him.

Ahmed is facing charges for fleeing and for causing more than 2-thousand dollars in damage to the fast food restaurant.
