Buffalo found wandering near Zumbrota

NEAR ZUMBROTA, Minn. (KTTC) -- A buffalo found wandering some highways near Zumbrota had to be put down.

The Goodhue County Sheriff's Office said the buffalo was first spotted on Highway 60 shortly after 1 p.m on Thursday.

About five hours later the buffalo was reported on or near County Road 10, east of County 12 in Minneola Township.

After attempts to corral the buffalo failed, as well as attempts to contact the owner, the buffalo was put down in a field off of County Road 10.

Berg's Towing assisted in removing the buffalo which was secured at Zumbrota Livestock.
