ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- You've no doubt heard the saying, "Don't judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes."
Now imagine walking that mile in high heels.
Hundreds of men did Tuesday night during the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event, an international men's march to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence.
The walk protests sexualized violence, educates their communities and raises money for rape crisis centers, domenstic violence shelters and other recovery services.
Mike Swan says participating in the walk is worth the pain of his high heeled shoes.
"It's just important to raise awareness everywhere other than here you know there's definitely you know anywhere you can get people to know about it and take a stand. The more people you have doing it the less likely it's going to happen," Swan said Tuesday.
The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event is locally organized by the non-profit group, Venture Humanity.
