WASHINGTON, D.C. (KTTC) -- A new report says hundreds of firearms were lost or stolen in Minnesota last year.

The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives audited all 50 states. Slightly more than 190,000 were reported lost or stolen across the country in 2012. In Minnesota, more than 1,300. In Iowa, a little more than 900 firearms were reported lost or stolen.

The Obama administration ordered the audit after the Connecticut school shooting in December.
