ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- KTTC and the United Way of Olmsted County are continuing to profile the 10 Who Make A Difference as we approach Rochesterfest, where all ten will be recogonized.
Our second recipient was nominated by Channel One Regional Foodbank, and is the amazing donors and volunteers at Rochester's two Walmart stores.
Channel One helps fight hunger in southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin, and Walmart has had a big part in that fight.
In the last year alone, both the north and south Rochester Walmart stores have donated over 250,000 pounds of food products to help feed people in need.
"It's pretty humbling. Everybody's pretty excited about it of course, but it's not the reason we do it, but again pretty excited to be nominated. It's a big honor," said Walmart manager Tony Talbot.
For Walmart, Talbot says this is just the tip of the ice berg, as the stores do many more community-oriented projects throughout the year as well.
Thanks, Rochester Walmart stores, for all you do-- and congratulations on being one of this year's 10 Who Make A Difference!
